The current tax system has become a burden.
Palm Beach County enjoyed massive prosperity during the real estate boom. As property values soared, so did the revenues local government collected from property taxes. Now our financial security and little slice of paradise is at risk.
Concerned citizens, like those who number the ranks of CUTTER (Citizens Urging Total Tax Education & Reform) recognize the challenging signs facing Palm Beach County's economy. And it's not just escalating taxes that will hurt citizens, the unwinding of what should be a strong and growing economy threatens the entire region.
CUTTER is a non-partisan grassroots movement of Palm Beach County residents who want our local government to implement greater efficiency in spending and cutting taxes for the greater good of its citizens and the region.
We are not here to urge our government to cut jobs or services, or limit the long-term growth plans of Palm Beach County. We recognize government services are essential to the health and well being of all Palm Beach County residents. It is our belief that as concerned citizens we can help our elected officials find workable solutions that will establish a framework which will enable our community to thrive.
CUTTER hopes to serve as a voice for the public and to educate citizens so that they may better understand the budget process and our government's fiduciary role. We are committed to working with local officials and serving as a conduit for reform and efficiency. It?s the only means to ensuring an environment in which all residents can prosper.
We all need to work together to maintain the wonderful quality of life we enjoy in Palm Beach County.
